Revised May 1, 2009
Ethics are important in my personal and professional life. I value the following standards and will strive to live by them.
- Integrity—I don’t ever want to change who I am to please the perceived whims of the moment. I will ensure my actions are not incongruous with my values.
- Gratitude—I will thank the people who help me and approach life with a gracious attitude. I will recognize and serve those around me.
- Responsibility—I will take responsibility for my actions. I will consider criticism and evaluate myself in order to improve.
- Loyalty—I will keep commitments. I will be honest and trustworthy in all of my personal and professional relationships.
- Learning—I will seek truth. I will approach life with an eager mind and openness to new ideas.
- Devotion—I will be devoted to my God, my family, and my values. I will contribute whole-heartedly to the activities I am involved with. I will live my life fully.

Not sure this counts as "ethics statement." More like my mission statement. You'll probably have to do one of these, too. If so, eschew verbosity.
Lynne! I just wanted to tell you that I love reading your blog even though I rarely have anything interesting/intelligent enough to say to comment on your posts.. keep writing! I will write you an email later this week.
ReplyDeletePS - I found out tonight that my roommate here was the inspiration for the Daily Universe editorial on Proposition 8 that you liked so much. I'll tell you the full story later.
Love you!
